Job description
An appointment as a postdoctoral fellow aims to give opportunities to new researchers to develop their independence in research after completing a PhD, and to create the conditions for further development. Your main task as a postdoctoral fellow will be to carry out research within one of the department's research profiles in educational work and in connection to one of the research profile's externally funded research projects. Teaching may also be part of your duties, mainly at undergraduate level, but may also occur at postgraduate level.

The details of the content of the employment will be determined in consultation with the person offered the position.

Eligibility requirements
The candidate is required to have a PhD degree in educational work or areas relevant to educational work. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time when the employment decision is made. Evidence of a completed PhD must have been received by this time at the latest. Primarily, it will come into question who has completed their degree no more than three years ago. If there are exceptional circumstances, the doctoral degree may have been completed earlier.

Qualification requirements
Selection of eligible applicants shall be performed according to the following criteria: scientific skills, personal suitability, relevance of the research plan to one of the department’s research projects, and previous experience of work and/or research in related fields. Prior research that falls within the framework of one of the department's research profiles is therefore desirable for the appointment.

The position requires a good ability to express oneself both orally and in writing in scientific contexts. For work within the framework of some of the research profiles, knowledge of Swedish or a similar Nordic language is an advantage. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities. The tasks require you to be flexible, take responsibility and have the ability to work both independently and together with others.

Employment conditions
The appointment is a full-time, fixed-term position for three years in accordance with the terms of contract for fixed-term employment as a postdoctoral researcher. The position consists of at least 80 percent research and up to 20 percent teaching. The successful candidate shall be based at the department and take an active part in its activities. Employment commences by agreement.

Application
The application is made through our e-recruitment system and must contain a personal letter that summarizes the applicant’s qualifications, competencies and interest in the position, a complete CV and list of publications, and a maximum of three selected publications (including the Ph.D. thesis). Also, the applicant is expected to attach a brief research plan (no more than three pages) describing a proposed postdoc research project relevant to one or two of the department’s research profiles. The application deadline is 2023-02-17.
