In the assessment, the same care and weight shall be devoted to scientific and educational expertise. Administrative expertise will also be considered.

When assessing scientific expertise, scientific quality must first and foremost be taken into account. The scope of the research, mainly with regard to depth and breadth, must also be given importance. Special emphasis is placed on research in the subject of human geography, preferably research where Geographical Information Systems have been applied. Demonstrated ability to initiate, plan and develop research as well as ability to obtain research funding in national and international competition is given great importance. Great emphasis will also be placed on the ability to collaborate with the surrounding society and to spread information about research and development work.

When assessing the pedagogical skills, documented experience of planning, implementation and evaluation of teaching, as well as of supervision and examination, will be taken into account. Special emphasis is placed on experiences of teaching about Geographical Information Systems within a human geographical or other social science framework.

Administrative skills can be demonstrated, among other ways, through experience in planning educational activities or projects, skills in developing and leading others, and administrative experience.
