The Department of Chemistry is seeking a laboratory engineer for coordination of the laboratory activities at one of the department’s laboratories. The employment is permanent and on a part-time basis, 75%. Last day to apply is 25 September 2020. We welcome your application.

Working tasks
As a laboratory engineer, you will have an overall coordinating role in a laboratory that focuses on research in biological chemistry. This includes instruments/equipment, users and material needed for the lab to function optimally. The tasks include coordination and administration of the laboratory, team building, maintenance of instruments/equipment and training regarding routines and safety.

Qualifications
A University degree in the field of engineering, chemistry/molecular biology or equivalent is required, as well as experience of maintenance of instruments/equipment and training regarding routines and safety in a research laboratory or equivalent. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a shown ability to coordinate multiple tasks are required. Very good knowledge of the English language both written and spoken is a requirement. Education within the management field and/or solid documented experiences of management in different environments is a strong merit. Documented experience of working in a chemical/molecular biology laboratory is a merit.

Employment conditions
The position is permanent and on a part-time basis, 75%. A probationary period may be applied.
