The Faculty of Medicine, which consists of 13 departments, is responsible for biomedical research and courses in the field of nursing and health care and has an extensive research and graduate education in more than 80 subjects.

Description

The applicant will work in an interdisciplinary research project on the health effects of weather types in Sweden.

Main tasks include statistical analyses on weather impacts on hospitalization and projections on future health impacts in the context of climatic and demographic changes. Epidemiological support in other projects with special focus on spatial analysis. Some teaching and supervision at basic and advanced levels may be included.

Eligibility

PhD degree in Epidemiology or Public health or related discipline. Expertise in environmental epidemiology, in particular in working with time series analyses using the R software will be required for this appointment.

Experience with the Linnaeus database at Umeå University is an advantage.
