We are announcing a position as Research Engineer to be responsible for lab support in undergraduate education at the Department of Ecology and Environmental Science. The employment is permanent and full-time. The last day to apply is March 4th, 2022 and the employment is expected to start on April 1st, 2022 or according to agreement.

Work description
As a research engineer, you have the overall responsibility for the lab support in undergraduate education (GU) at the Department of Ecology, Environment and Earth Sciences (EMG). You support teachers and PhD students in developing and practicing laboratory teaching and experiments. This includes e.g. courses in terrestrial and aquatic ecology, earth sciences, microbiology, food safety, but also biology courses in Basåret. You are also responsible for the maintenance of instruments and equipment, and ensure that all necessary teaching materials are available. You establish safety routines for the entire lab, and ensure that the rules are respected, including registration and handling of chemicals.

Qualifications
The candidate has a Master degree in ecology, environmental science, geoscience or a closely related field. We seek a candidate with experience of laboratory work in the broadest sense, such as plan and carry out laboratory-based teaching and experiments, be responsible for the operation and maintenance of laboratory-based activities, ensure handling of chemicals and sterile techniques. Previous experience of student guidance and documented pedagogical education are meritorious. We seek a creative, motivated individual with good oral and written communication skills in Swedish and English. You are enterprising, have a good ability to work together but can also work independently.
