We are now looking for a Lecturer in Transportation Design.
Job Description
The main tasks consist of teaching, supervision, examination, and educational administration/planning/development in Transportation Design and related subjects and methods. Other tasks include collaborating with staff at the Umeå Institute of Design for planning and working in accordance with the timelines, rules, and routines of the Umeå Institute of Design and Umeå University. Long-term planning and monitoring developments in the field and actively participating in departmental tasks are also part of the job.
Additionally, actively initiating collaborations between undergraduate and advanced level education within the subject area of the position, with other disciplines, with professionals, and with other actors in the design field and society at large.
Eligibility requirements
To be eligible for employment as a lecturer, you must have at least a master's degree or other professional expertise relevant to the subject content of the position and the tasks included in the employment.
Assessment criteria and weighting
The primary assessment criteria for the position are the degrees of skill required for eligibility for employment, and the degree of pedagogical skill. Additionally, experience of collaboration with the surrounding community and the degree of administrative skill relevant to the subject content and tasks of the position are considered.
Other Qualifications
The position requires a very good ability to express oneself in English, both orally and in writing. You should have good communication skills, with a focus on presenting ideas both orally, in writing, and through visualizations. You have experience working with issues of social transformation, mobility, or sustainability and possess skills and knowledge in digital modeling and visualization tools.
It is meritorious if you have experience in team or project management, preferably using agile methods or other project management methods.
Terms
Employment: A full-time, fixed-term position for one year. The working hours are located at the Umeå Institute of Design.
