We are looking for a research engineer who will conduct a modelling study analysing blue carbon storage potential in SE Asia. It is a full-time position limited to 15 months. Start date is September 2024 or by agreement. Application deadline is 30 July 2024.

Description
The candidate will join a large international team who are collaboratively working to develop blue carbon policy framework(s) in SE Asia for implementation at community to policy levels. The selected candidate will conduct a geospatial modelling analysis of coastal habitats, in relation to their current and future distributions and carbon biogeochemistry. The selected candidate is responsible for preparing the findings for publication as a research article, and to support other project team members to integrate these natural science research outcomes into the wider policy-led project.

Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with a graduate degree in environmental or data science, or similar. The candidate should be capable of leading a spatial modelling study, including literature / data searches, GIS and coding (with competence in e.g. R or Python). The candidate must be able to work well with others as well as independently. You should have very good written and oral communication skills in English. Meriting attributes would be previous experience working within a collaborative team, and/or a proven track record in research publication and/or conference presentation.
