Summary

Umeå University is also the site of the pioneering discovery of the gene scissors CRISPR-Cas9 – a revolution in genetic engineering awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

 

The Life Science bachelor program at Umeå University is based at both the Department of Molecular Biology and the Department of Chemistry. We now have two open amanuensis positions at 20% of full time, one will be positioned at the Department of Molecular Biology and the other at the Department of Chemistry.

Work tasks

The work as an amanuensis means that you are employed by Umeå University and that you work with tasks related to the Life Science program at the Department of Chemistry or Department of Molecular Biology. This can include joint program activities such as study visits, invite speakers for inspiration seminars, and social activities but also outreach activities such as presenting the program to school classes, participating in outreach events, and making sure the home page is updated. The work also includes communication and responsibility for the joint program Canvas site and active participation in program council meetings.


Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate that meet the following criteria:

  • You are registered as an active student at the Life Science program at Umeå University,
  • You have good social skills and a great interest in working to improve and develop the Life Science program. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
  • You have a good ability to work independently as well as in groups.

You should also include a CV, a copy of the relevant diploma and other relevant certificates/grades.

Terms of employment
