The Faculty of Medicine, which consists of 12 departments, is responsible for biomedical research and courses in the field of nursing and health care and has an extensive research and graduate education in more than 80 subjects.
Work description
The person we are looking for will assist the research group in a number of diabetes and pancreas cancer related projects. This includes work with primary cell/tissue cultures (Islets of Langerhans), cell and molecular biology techniques and immunohistochemical techniques such as ELISA and antibody labeling on sections and in whole mount assays.
Qualifications
A successful candidate should be able to express him/herself well in speech and writing (in English). We are looking for a person who has obtained a Master’s degree or similar in biomedicine, Molecular Biology or similar fields, alternatively Biomedical scientist (Medical laboratory technologist). Previous experience of molecular and immunohistochemical techniques and cell cultures is a requirement. Passed exam in Laboratory Animal Science for Researchers is a requirement. Good organizational skills is a must.
Other qualifications
Knowledge about pancreatic anatomy, pancreatic function and diabetogenic processes. Experience with primary cultures, immunohistochemistry (sections and whole munt assays), ELISA and PCR. Good computational skills and experience with microscopic 3D imaging techniques is further meriting.
