UmArts and Umeå School of Architecture at Umeå University are hiring up to three Teaching assistants to support the exciting work of the UmArts research production team during the spring and summer semester of 2023. Our goal is to create a dynamic and interdisciplinary team, so students across the Arts Campus departments are eligible and encouraged to apply. The application deadline is 14 May, 2023.
As a Teaching assistant within research production and communications, you will work in coordination with the UmArts Director with various tasks related to producing research projects, discussions and events, marketing and communications. For example, working with researchers to install and communicate their projects, working with the UmArts team to communicate the program. See www.umarts.se for the program of activities.

Previous experience in producing or managing events, designing and making temporary exhibition structures and environments are considered strong assets for the role.
As a teaching assistant you will be employed by Umeå University. This is a part time position of 20% during the fall semester of 2023 and spring semester of 2024. The start date is September 1, 2023, or as agreed.
The selection of candidates is based on the applicant’s merits, suitability and experience of similar tasks. The application must include a CV, and a cover letter (maximum of two A4 pages) describing how your knowledge and experience is relevant to the position, and a summary of your completed courses extracted from Ladok. The application is made via Umeå University's recruitment tool Varbi.

The UmArts Research Centre for Architecture, Design and the Arts is based at the Arts Campus and also works with the Department for Creative Studies at the main campus. The centre aims to create an exciting interdisciplinary arts research environment in the visual arts, architecture, design, curatorial and creative studies in partnership with Bildmuseet and within the regional context of Northern Sweden as well as nationally and internationally. UmArts runs a programme of public research events, thematic working groups alongside staff research projects and a team of new post-doctoral researchers. In 2023 UmArts will open a new research studio space on the Arts Campus which will be the base for the post-docs and Small Visionary Projects, exhibitions and events.
