The Faculty of Medicine, which consists of 12 departments, is responsible for biomedical research and courses in the field of nursing and health care and has an extensive research and graduate education in more than 80 subjects.
The National Doctoral Programme in Infection and Antibiotics (NDPIA) is a research school funded by The Swedish Research Council (VR) and is affiliated with the Laboratory for Molecular Infection Medicine Sweden (MIMS), Umeå University, the Swedish node for the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine. NDPIA has the goal to connect research environments studying infection biology and antibiotics throughout Sweden by offering courses/workshops, conferences, research stays in Sweden and abroad, and network meetings that promote scientific research and recruitment of young scientists. Membership is open to PhD students and postdoctoral fellows enrolled at a Swedish university/institute or with one of our international partners and studying infection biology and antibiotics.
We are looking for a temporary project coordinator for employment up to 12 months with 100% employment that focuses on the development, organization, and promotion of PhD level courses and national meetings, on NDPIA membership promotion and updates, on preparing information, such as activity reports for board meetings, and on processing co-funding applications. The position starts as soon as possible or by agreement and is located at the Department of Molecular Biology, Umeå University.
As project coordinator you will work closely with NDPIA management (the national coordinator and project administrator) to organize courses, workshops, conferences, and meetings. Other duties include maintaining records of the student membership and activities offered by NDPIA.
The work as the NDPIA coordinator requires that you work independently as well as in a group. The NDPIA coordinator should be flexible, initiative-taking and well-organized. The coordinator should be a service-oriented person with very good communication and organizational skills. Importantly, the NDPIA coordinator should create positive, service-oriented relationships with NDPIA’s national and international target groups.
