Assessment criteria and balance of the grounds
A general assessment basis for teachers at Umeå University is both good collaborative skills, as well as the necessary competence and suitability for performing the duties well.

When selecting applicants for this position, special emphasis will be placed on professional skills relevant to the subject content of the position and the duties that will be included in the employment, which means that documented professional experience as an industrial designer is required.

We then look at the degree of teaching expertise. You must have documented qualifications from teaching in the subject area of industrial design and experience of supervision and educational planning in terms of higher education in design.

In addition, experience of collaboration with the surrounding community is assessed. You should have documented experience of working in collaborative projects with an external party and that in these contexts you have worked with design methodology, design concepts, design processes and design results.

The degree of administrative expertise is assessed based on the ability to independently organize, plan, document and develop educational activities.
