Description

The Research Support and Collaboration Office has two areas of focus: research support and collaboration. The positions which are now advertised are intended to operate within research support. The office is an important part of the university-wide research support at Umeå University and supports the university's goal of increasing the share of national and international external research funds.

Job duties

We offer a meaningful and varied position where you will have the opportunity to work on developing and strengthening research support at Umeå University.

With us, you take part in and contribute to the latest developments in research funding. At the same time, you broaden your network in Sweden and Europe. The work is characterized by exciting meetings with researchers from different disciplines.

You will be part of a work group of about ten employees consisting of operations managers, EU experts, research coordinators, economists and lawyers. We work to strengthen our researchers' opportunities to compete for external research funds by informing about research funding and the financiers' requirements, providing support in the application process and during the course of the project, and providing feedback to strengthen applications. This takes place via seminars for both researchers and administrators, information through websites and newsletters, and active work with researchers' applications.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who is self-motivated and can also plan, lead and implement projects together with various actors, something that requires your ability to create good relationships in both internal and external contexts. You are stimulated by creating results in knowledge-intensive environments and have a proactive way of working that has positive effects on the development our office. As a person, you are flexible, solution-focused and committed.

We are looking for you who have:

  • Disputed in relevant subject area
  • Ability to organize and prioritize so you can manage complex workflows even under time pressure
  • Ability to work independently, but at the same time is comfortable working in a group
  • A sense of responsibility and service, and the ability to create good relationships with various actors
  • Ability to convey your knowledge in an educational way
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Experience in providing qualified writing support or leading/coordinating application writing
  • Experience from work in other research support activities/Grants Office or work with research financiers
  • Experience of cross-/multidisciplinary working methods
  • Relevant networks nationally and internationally

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
