The Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics conducts research in computational mathematics, discrete mathematics, mathematical modelling and analysis, and mathematical statistics. Our teaching is conducted at all levels and includes mathematics, mathematical statistics and computational science. Among our partners are international research groups, academic institutions, public organizations and companies.

The Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics is hiring a Project Assistant on a part time temporary position of six months. The job requires, among other things, a Master's degree in mathematics and very good knowledge of financial mathematics. The deadline for applications is November 15, 2022.

Job description
The position of Project Assistant will involve work on implementing and coding research applications in financial mathematics.

It will also include work on courses in financial mathematics at advanced level, such as development of course material, technical assistance in thesis work, supervision of computer laboratories and assistance with assessment of laboratory reports.

Qualifications
The position requires a Master's degree in mathematics, very good knowledge of financial mathematics and excellent communication skills in English.

The position
The position is part time 50% and temporary for six months during the period December 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023.
