The Faculty of Medicine, which consists of 12 departments, is responsible for biomedical research and courses in the field of nursing and health care and has an extensive research and graduate education in more than 80 subjects.
The Department of Odontology harbors around 60 co-workers and educate dentists and conducts medical odontological research. We are recruiting a senior research engineer, full time for one years to one of our research groups.
About the research project
The research is translational, combining basic and clinical sciences in infection biology and chronic diseases, for personalized oral and medical care. We are mapping genetic predictors in cohort, case-control and RCT studies for novel subtypes of dental caries based on human immunodeficiency and bacterial virulence. We accordingly developing novel diagnostic and preventive approaches to chronic diseases such as caries and allergy. The project contains molecular biology, microbiology, translational and clinical parts. We are recruiting a senior research engineer who independently can lead method development and largescale analyses of clinical samples at the genomic level, as well as design, perform and analyze molecular biology studies in the area of host-microbe interactions.

Qualifications
For this position you need to have a doctoral degree within medical sciences or molecular biology. You have experience of molecular biology and molecular genetic analyses and you have worked with several DNA-based techniques, as well as experience of and competence in data handling and analyses and in leading and designing experimental work.
You are independent with a project leading and stringent personality. The work is dynamic, thus demanding a flexible personality and ability to co-operate. Great emphasis will be on personal suitability.
Other qualifications
Research experience beyond the doctoral degree and thus suitability for project-leading tasks and responsibilities is considered a strong merit. Experience of statistical and other soft wares for data analyses and bioinformatics is a merit.
