We are now looking for a lecturer in visual storytelling and video production.

Tasks
The main tasks consist of teaching, supervision, examination and educational planning/development in visual communication and related topics, methods and software. Other tasks are to collaborate with staff at the School of Design for planning and work in accordance with the timetables, rules and procedures of umeå University. External monitoring within their own subject area and active participation in departmental tasks are included in the tasks.  

Eligibility requirements
Eligible to be employed as a lecturer is a person who has a degree at the lowest master's level or has any other professional skills that are relevant with regard to the subject content of the position and the duties to be included in the employment.  

Assessment criteria and balance between the basics
As a basis for assessment in the employment, the degrees of proficiency that constitute requirements for eligibility for employment shall apply, as well as the degree of pedagogical proficiency. In addition, experience of collaboration with the surrounding society and the degree of administrative skills that are relevant to the subject content and duties of the position apply.  

Pedagogical skills shall relate to documented qualifications from teaching in the field of visual communication and documented experience of teaching, supervision and educational planning in the field of higher education.

Experience of collaboration with the surrounding society shall relate to documented experience of working within collaborative projects with an external party.

Administrative skills include:
- Ability to independently organize, plan, document and develop educational activities.
- Ability to guide students
- Ability to create collaboration between education in the subject area of the position, with other subject disciplines, with professional practitioners as well as with other actors in the field of design and in society in general.

Other qualifications
The position requires a very good ability to express themselves in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of Adobe software with a focus on After Affects and Premiere is a merit.  

Prerequisites
The employment comprises 50-100% (based on wishes) and applies to a temporary employment for 2 years. In the recruitment process, interviews, test lectures and reference taking may be relevant.
