The Department of Applied Physics and Electronics is looking for a research engineer focusing on energy technology and energy efficiency in buildings. The employment refers to part-time (50%) and is limited in time to 12 months with possible prolongation, starting on 2021-10-01 or by agreement. Application deadline is June 10, 2021
Project description
The purpose of this project is to provide a data-driven model with Big Data. It shall constitute decision support for energy renovation for single-family buildings. The consequences of alternative energy renovation solutions are predicted with information from a database with Big Data is based on the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's database with Energy Declarations, Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The method will be validated by comparing collected data from actual single-family buildings with predictions generated with the methodology.
Tasks
The work consists of supporting the stakeholders' involvement in the process towards sustainable energy renovation for single-family buildings, in collaboration with the research group for energy efficiency;
Competence requirements
A doctoral degree in building technology construction engineering or energy efficiency in buildings is required. To achieve the purpose of the research, the applicants need to have documented knowledge of building information modeling (BIM), simulation and optimization of construction processes, simulation, and optimization of energy use embodied energy in construction logistics. Applicants must have a doctorate in construction technology, construction engineering, or energy technology.
Other desirable qualifications
The applicant must have the ability to work systematically, thoroughly and independently, and collaborate with others. Furthermore, the applicant should be familiar with theoretical engineering tools and know the research mentioned above area.
