The position is full time for two years and is placed in the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics.

Work assignments

Work with non-canonical DNA structures and small molecules, biophysical measurements such as circular dichroism, UV-vis measurements, absorbance and fluorescence measurement will be performed. Also, work with G-quadruplex DNA structures and G-quadruplex stabilizing molecules will be performed using biochemical assays. Detection of G-quadruplex DNA structures in cells will be performed by fluorescence microscopy.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree in Chemical Sciences or similar. Applicants should have practical experience with the work assignments mentioned above.

The applicant should be knowledgeable in the field of G-quadruplex DNA structures and G-quadruplex stabilizing molecules and have hands-on experience in using these substances in biochemical and biophysical methods, as well as in cell assays. The applicant should have demonstrated independent work ability by publishing articles as first author in highly-ranked journals. In addition, the applicant should have good experience in compiling results for scientific publications. The applicant should also be highly proficient in written and spoken English.
