The Department of Psychology is recruiting for a fulltime position as professor in psychology with a focus on clinical psychology. In this case, clinical psychology refers to the study of the aetiology, development, diagnostics, assessment, treatment and prevention of clinical states. Clinical states are mental problems and disorders, behavioral deficiencies, functional hindrances or deviations from that which is considered normal.

Job description
The successful candidate will be expected to play a key role in establishing, developing and leading research activities within the area of clinical psychology and clinical treatment both at the department at the department’s Psychotherapy Training Clinic. Further, it is expected that the successful candidate will actively participate in creating funding opportunities for the clinical research at the department. It is also expected that the successful candidate will play a key role in curriculum development, teaching and advising at the basic, advanced and graduate levels of our educational programs. 

At the department, several courses are conducted with strong clinical emphasis and a professor is expected to maintain broad and high-quality research in the field concerned. A professor is expected to contribute to the work of creating good financial resources for the clinical research at the department together with our younger researchers. The position also includes, together with the teachers in the profile group in clinical psychology, conducting course and program development, teaching and supervision at the basic, advanced and doctoral level. In addition, we forsee the professor to enrich the interface between teaching and research, e.g. by working together with the clinical profile group to develop new activities with clinical features at the clinic. The applicant should be prepared to take on administrative and pedagogical duties as needed.

Eligibility
According to Chapter 4, Section 3 of the Higher Education Ordinance, a person who has demonstrated both research and teaching expertise shall be qualified for employment as a professor

Assessment criteria
The applicant should have a marked ability to collaborate, distinguished academic leadership skills and a great ability to contribute to a good research environment.

Particular importance is attached to scientific skill and leadership in the field of clinical psychology. Great emphasis is placed on pedagogical skills and ability to drive development work and experience of clinical treatment work as well as an established and extensive contact network in the area. Great emphasis will also be attached to personal character.

In the recruitment process, sample lectures, interviews and reference taking will be conducted.

Swedish language is an advantage but not a requirement when appointing.
