Call for applications 1 – appointment as recognized university teacher and distinguished university teacher according to Umeå university’s model for acquisition of educational qualification (Faculty of social sciences) - Befattningen är under tillsättning eller redan tillsatt, och det är inte längre möjligt att lämna in en ansökan

In 2013 Umeå University introduced a model for acquistition of educational qualification, this model was revised 2016-06-28. The aim of the model is to contribute to an ongoing improvement of quality by stimulating teachers to develop a great educational competence and also stimulate departments to create an environment that is conducive to educational development.

The model has two levels: recognized university teacher and distinguished university teacher. The application for appointment as a distinguished university teacher may only be submitted by teachers who have previously been appointed as a recognized university teacher.

Call for applications opens twice a year and the last day to apply is usually in the middle of February and in the middle of September. Deadline for the next application is February 17, 2020.

Eligible to apply are those who hold a position as a teacher at Umeå University and have at least 5 years of teaching experience at a higher education institution, equiavalent to at least two years of full-time teaching, and have higher education training/expertise above what is required for employment of teaching staff at Umeå University. The eligibility must be confirmed by a statement from the Head of Department.

The application must consist of;

• CV
• a statement from the Head of Department regarding eligibility (see above)
• for recognized university teacher: main text of maximum 8 pages, reference list excluded (4 criteria) and a maximum of 12 appendices or
• for distinguished university teacher: main text of maximum 8 pages, reference list excluded (3 criteria) and a maximum of 12 appendices
