We now seek to appoint a full-time post-doctoral research fellow situated at the Department of psychology. The employment is financed for a fixed-term of two years by research funding: The position may include teaching with a maximum of 20 %.

Project Description

The work will encompass a project that investigates the effects of a cognitive learning strategy, denoted as retrieval practice with focus on functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). The work can include empirical data collections and/or work with available data sets of behavioral and fMRI data. The project “Learning to engage the brain” is part of a larger interdisciplinary initiative, funded by the Swedish Research Council. The post-doc research fellow will be situated at the Department of psychology but will work closely with colleagues at Umeå center for Functional Brain Imaging (UFBI: http://www.ufbi.umu.se/) where the fMRI work and analyses will be conducted.

Competence

  • Doctoral exam awarded no more than three years before the deadline of the application ( if not special reasons exists such as parental leave, military duty, sick leave, etc.)
  • No previous employment as a post-doctoral research fellow for more than one year within the same or related subject area at the same university/authority

Qualifications

  • Documented knowledge and proven experience of research in cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience
  • The position requires the ability to use English as a working language
  • Documented knowledge of and experience in analyses of fMRI data
