The Faculty of Medicine, which consists of 13 departments, is responsible for biomedical research and courses in the field of nursing and health care and has an extensive research and graduate education in more than 80 subjects.
The Department of Integrative Medical Biology, Medical Faculty, Umeå University, seeks a Project Assistant within a research project concerning vibration injuries in muscles and nerves of sleep apnea patients.
Project description: The service involves working with morphological, biochemical and cell biology techniques. The main focus of the project is to work with morphological and biochemical analyses of changes in muscles and nerves of patients with sleep apnea. The analyses will be performed on tissue samples from patients and on human cultured cells exposed to vibration. The ability to independently plan experiments, develop methods, perform analyses and summarize the results, orally and in writing in English is a requirement. It is also expected that the candidate can independently run research within this area and seek funding. Applicants must also have a proven ability to collaborate within the group and with other research groups.
