We now seek to appoint a full-time postdoctoral researcher situated at the Department of Psychology. The employment is financed for a fixed-term of two years by research funding: The position may include teaching with a maximum of 20 %.

Project Description

The work will encompass a project that investigates the effects of cognitive learning strategies such as retrieval practice and spaced Learning in collaboration with an external company specialized in web-based learning platforms. The postdoctoral researcher will be situated at the Department of Psychology, Umeå University but will work closely with staff from the external company situated in Gothenburg. The work will include traveling back and forth to Gothenburg. 

 Competence

  • You should have a PhD degree, or a foreign degree that is deemed equivalent.  Priority is given to candidates who have completed their doctoral degree no more than three years before the closing date of the application. A candidate who has completed the degree prior to this should be given equal priority if special circumstances exist (for example parenal leave). 
  • No previous employment as a post-doctoral research fellow for more than one year within the same or related subject area at the same university/authority

Qualifications

  • Priority is given to candidates with a cognitive science exam.
  • Documented knowledge and proven experience of research in cognition with a particular emphasis on memory systems and memory processes.
  • The position requires the ability to use English as a working language
  • Applicants are expected to have a strong quantitative methods background
  • Applicants are required to be skilled and experienced in python programming.
