Umeå School of Architecture is announcing a temporary position as lecturer in architecture. The position is a full-time temporary position for eleven months. The starting date is 2018-09-01 or according to agreement. The final date for applications is 2018-06-26.

Tasks
The main task is teaching in a studio environment at the bachelor’s and master’s level in the Architectural programme. This includes planning, teaching, tutoring, examinations, presentations, and development of educational and teaching materials.

Qualification requirements
You are required to have a diploma or master degree in architecture or the equivalent from a recognised School of Architecture. You have documented experience of teaching and supervision as well as pedagogical development work.  Documented teaching and supervision in the subject area at university level is a strong merit.

You have the ability to independently plan, organise and develop educational activities and to guide students, the ability to create collaboration within education at all levels, as well as with practitioners and other actors within the field of architecture, and society in general.

Experience in professional architectural practice with focus on social sustainable urban development and social development, temporary architecture, cooperation and participatory processes is a requirement.

You are also required to have very good verbal and written communication skills in English, as well as a good ability to collaborate and communicate.  You should be independent, flexible and take own initiatives.

Experience in working with learning platforms is a merit. Experience in working with issues of diversity and equal treatment, with particular focus on equal opportunities is a merit.

Conditions of employment
The temporary position is full-time for eleven months. Start date 2018-09-01 or by agreement.
